35.51 Mpg!

I can't believe it. We went on a trip last weekend that went up and down and through the twisties. Even went over a 5700 ft. mountain pass. Didn't baby the car or anything. Made a bunch of stops, went sightseeing, looked at the sights, etc. Put 280 miles on the car last Sunday, and then parked it for the week. Tonight we put about 30 more miles on it driving around town and a little bit of backroads. Stopped to put gas in it and I could only get 8.748 gallons in. It is completely full. We put 310.7 miles on the tank. That's 35.51 MPG boys and girls!

I'm psyched! It's never gotten over 31.5 on a long trip and it only did that once. My typical MPG is 29-30.

We may take another road trip this weekend and see if it's going to keep getting that kind of mileage. I was completely shocked that the pump kept shutting off. I kept playing with it thinking that the shutoff was messed up and I actually spilled a little.

Thumbs up

something similar happened to me, I went 560 Kilometers on a full tank of gas. And I did only about 40% high way driving.

SWEET!

Dude, that rocks!!

You think it's a fluke, or a result of your mods?

pretty good dude!...... when we were getting 30 MPG with ours this summer on vacation....the car FULLY loaded (four passangers and their lougage), and running 85 to 90 all the time....I though it was tremendous.....I am sure if I had been doing 65 or 60 like the signs said that it would have been much better.

hope your luck keeps going.....

I just got 34.5 on a trip, with a/c on and stop and go driving. I'm pretty impressed.

How the hell did you pull that off???

Hehe.

I've never come close to that in my Protege. I usually need to fill up after about 275 miles. Of course, I really haven't made any serious performance modifications ... YET ...

I got the good milage before any mods. I have an RActive intake now, and no spare tire(it''s under my bed, here at home).

Anyway, I have to fill up again, and I will let u guys know what I'm getting in terms of milage....

If I would go somewhere far, then I would take it with me, but in the city, I would just call one of my friends and they would help me out in case of a flat.

It's got to be somwhat as a result of the mods. We even had the A/C on the whole time. We are going on another road trip today to look at some caves. I'll check it again after the trip.

We're back! 224.9 miles and then filled it. 6.22 gallons for a mileage of 36.15 MPG. That just kicks ***! Even if none of you guys buy one of my headers I'm glad I built this last one!

That was even taking it up and down twisty mountain roads, passing people when I could, and generally not driving it any more gently than I normally do. Which is to say that I definately didn't baby it.

I'm buying an e-manage this week and I'll install it when I get it. Going to fire up my old computer and put it out in the shop so I can tune it. Will keep everyone posted on that score.

do you by chance also have a hybrid. That is, a gas-gerbil engine?

If only my driving habits allow me to get this much mileage out of a tank?

Oh well...what are you going to do
