4 spd Sport Automatic

what do you guys think of these? i got a brand new p5 as my first car and i sorta wanted 5spd, but i have to keep this car for about 5-6 years so i chose the sport auto with the sequential manual mode. what do you guys think of this tranny? if you practice you can shift at the right time to make it faster than the regular auto but a little slower than a 5spd. i think its nice to be able to choose whther i want to shift or not. the only thing is, for speed, you have to upshift about 500rpm earlier than you normally would. overall i like it ; )

It's a good compromise for the 5-speed. The manual cars weight slightly less, but if you learn to shift it at the right time, it will perform better than a standard auto.

Mine came with it as well.. but to be honest, the only reason I got one with it in it was because it was the only one left on the lot that was blue and had an automatic.

But I can agree that it would be a good comprimise between a stick and and auto... I would have purchased a manual, but given that I was looking for a commuter car in heavy traffic.. eh.. I'll trade a little bit of performance (and 1MPG ) for my clutch leg (my Cobra was a bear to drive in traffic for that very reason).

yeah, at first i was somewhat disappointed that i didnt get the 5spd, but when i look a few years down the road, i realize that i dont want to be shifting all the time.
