hehe, guess my thread got 'merged' (or is it cannibalized?)
see? I told ya Dale, they would keep your thread since you took the time to type out the recall letter
Anyways, I did mine at Brown's Fairfax Mazda today. I was very impressed with their service, as the service advisor was able to take the car in and get it done even though I wasn't listed on his appointment schedule (some numbnut forgot to put my name down when he took the call for my service advisor ).
The major difference I've noticed so far (haven't gone on the highway to open up the engine yet) is the throttle input/response is much more smooth/linear. You get power as soon as you lean into the gas pedal, instead of what it used to do, in which it didn't respond until I firmly push in the pedal a bit, and the tach would rev up to about 1500, then the car will suddenly jerk forward.
anyways, glad I got it replaced. I'll post more if I see significant gas mileage improvement during the week.

Hi.
I had my ignition wires and coil pack replaced around February.
I went to start the car one day and it was REALLY loud ...I got out and went around to the back of the car and the muffler looked like it was going to shake right off. I got back into the car and the check engine light was on. I called the dealer and they it was OK to drive it. I ignored them and let it sit all weekend until Monday morning when I went to the dealership. It was in the garage for about 1 hr ..they told me they fixed everything under warranty.
I didn't receive a letter though.
