Adios Mr. P5

I just got a new job so it was time to say goodbye to Ms. P5. She gave me many years of fun driving and was my first official modded vehicle. As I came to work with the top down in my new Mazdaspeed Miata this morning and saw someone else taking corners in their P5 with some vigor, I couldn't help but hope that my old P5 gets to enjoy its future driver as much as I enjoyed it....

...I guess "many years" is a relative term, since 2002 (when the P5 debuted in the US) doesn't feel like many years ago to me!

Enjoy the Miata.

No reason you can't have both P5 and Miata...

I want a Miata as well. Since I am getting married this summer, it is being put on hold for a while. But, I figure there are two ways I could do it:
1) Pay off the P5 first, then in a couple of years, finance a new Miata. I would keep the P5 as a daily driver.
2) Buy a used Miata, five years or older, with cash. Again, the P5 would remain the daily driver.
If either of the two above scenarios works out, the Miata will be a summer time toy (as they most often are in snowy Michigan). I figure I could get many years of enjoyment out of it on sunny Sunday afternoons, and wiping it down with a soft cloth indoors to pass the time on the coldest winter days. Mazdaspeed or NA, these cars have one of the best chassis on the market. Stop by any SCCA event, and you'll see what I mean - it's almost a Miata fest. This is THE sports car of our generation.

I think you could take some corners with vigor in your Miata, too!
Congrats on the new job & car.
