What is wrong with you? Are those "other proteges" that happen to be mechanically identical, inferior and not worth some "special protege5 pedals"? As far as pedals go, they are exact the same. You should want all protege drivers to get some since I'm sure they're a great product.

Pedals are universal, so I basically see your product as overpriced crap.

Learn some selling tecnique before you go blabbing your fat mouth.

WTF? Are we being a drama queen or what!!!!!! The guy was just letting everyone know that he has fabicated some pedals for his car. He drives a Pro 5 so that is how he posted. Geessh! Get a life!!! Every pedal set that I have seen is pretty much universal (some larger than others), with the exception of AT or stick. If you have half a brain you would know that the p5's pedals are the same as other pro's. Some people need to chill and get a life! PR5Monkey don't worrry about the "MODERATORS" say what you have to say!!!( As long as you are not being vulgar or rude). GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these going to be real pedals or pedal covers? I don't like the sound of pedal covers so I wanted some real ones. Are the mp3 pedals covers or real pedals? I was thinking about getting some but they are really expensive.

I don't know about his pedals (covers), but I would assume they would be covers. To have real pedals, you would have to unweld your original pedals and weld on the new fabricated pedals. The "pads" don't just screw on to the arms of the clutch and brake. I have the covers and I installed them over the rubber pads to give a softer feel. You could always remove the rubber pads and screw them directly to the metal pad underneath.

Damn, since I drive an inferior 99 LX compared to the almighty Protege5, I cannot get those pedals. Even though the entire footwell/pedal area is exactly the same.

wtf?

Why do you people still give the guy **** about the P5 request. There are alot of differences between the P5 and other 3rd gen pros. Sure, this is not one of them, but enough already. Damn, some of you act like you are the Protege gods and all knowing. Big deal, he asked about pedals for the P5. Maybe he didn't know that the padals are the same on all proteges, but who cares. Now if if he would have asked about different pedals between an LX or ES, then... .

BTW, he never said that the P5s are superior to the other proteges. he only mentioned that he could care less about them. In his case, he is right. He does not own one, so why worry about it.

Because he clearly stated that he "doesn't give a crap about other Proteges" and the fact that the very last word in the subject line says "only". My point is that the pedals are no different in any of the 3rd gens unless you have an MP3. Why should aluminum pedals be limited to only the Protege5?

NegatiZE,

I don't wan't to get into a p|ssing match with you, but as we all now clearly know, pedals are not limited to the P5. He probably didn't know that the P5s are the same as other pros. You guys make it out to seem that he is a hater of all pros other than P5. Personally, when it comes to mods for my P5, I like to see if the items are the same on both sedans and P5. Since the P5 is a fairly new model there are some parts that are listed for the sedan that will work on the P5. So he didn't do the research. Is it really that bad? Life will go on!

Not trying to man. I'm just stating what he has said. I found it slightly offensive. I wasn't going to reply until I saw his comment, because I had no problem with what he was trying to say.

Whoaaaa!

Fellow Forum Members....

Some of you who stuck up for me. Thanks. Some of you that got offended, then I apologize. My P5 is all I could go with and I was refering to what I saw inside my car. At that point I was just agitated about the whole "research" thing. Which would have been a good idea by the way. I should have not said " I could give a crap about other proteges". After reading that I again, I don't blame you if you got rubbed the wrong way. Anyway....We have pedals. Good lookin' and not bulky ones. The sides are curved to perfectly mold on to the brakes and clutch/attached via v-clips in the back. The gas pedal attaches right on top of the stock gas pedal via screws (yes, you might have to drill a bit). Uninstalled pics are up. I will post more pics when I have them installed.

Talk to you all laters,
Jason

They are bolt on(s), baby!

TheMAN,

This is from my friend that made the pedals:

The brackets secure the aluminum pedals to the stock pedals. They have nutplates so you only need a screwdriver to install them.

1) Remove the existing rubber cover from the stock pedals.
2) Place the aluminum pedal over the stock pedal
3) The bracket goes the back side of both pedals, next to the firewall.
4). Insert the screws & tighten each screw, little at a time, keeping the
aluminum pedal straight.

If I measured correctly, the screws will go above & below the stock pedal profile without drilling.

The brackets will secure it in place, the curved edges on the aluminum pedal will keep the pedals from shifting sideways & the screws will keep the pedals from shifting up or down.

I'll post pics as soon as I get them on. Thanks.
Jason

I see what you are saying...

I guess I'm going by what was made for the gas pedal on my RX-7 and it was a direct bolt-on.

Hmmm....as soon a I get a hold of them and test run 'em. I'll get get back with you about them.

People crash with them...Wow. Did not know that. My RX came with the brake and clutch with pedals already on them.

Thanks for the extra info,
Jason
