I heard that too a while back. But I've yet to read anything to confirm this. I think in general, people do not use Armorall because it seems to really attract lint. Also, the sheen reflects sunlight into your eyes on sunny days.

I have been using ArmorAll for years and never had anything cracked but have stopped using it for the reason Redfyre stated. The glare is bad at times.

I would like to find another that has a lower gloss to it. I've heard STP's stuff is better but have not tried it.

Has anybody?

Use Vinylex. Armorall causes things to dry out and crack.

I don't believe that. Most likely sun damage has already occured before you started using Amorall. At that point it's already too late.

I've been trying the Eagle One stuff and it seems pretty good. It's got a nice neutral smell and doesn't attract lint and dirt as much as Amorall did. However, it still leave a bit of a sheen (though not as much as Amorall).

I'm gonna try the Simoniz stuff next. My sister just bought a bottle and it has a real nice light, fresh smell to it. I have used it yet.

Well, the real damage comes if you use armor-all once, and don't continue using it.

Redfyre,

Let me know how it works out. I will give Eagle one a try.

if you start a car off from new with just water and a lint free cloth youll never have to deal with the crap that comes with using armour all. it attracts lint and when yo ustop using it the finish is all weird and doesn't look good again until you keep applying the product.

if you just use a damp cloth with water the dust doesnt stick to your dash and you can dust once a week or so with a feather duster or something. feather dusters are the best cleaning device

Why do people waste their time believing stupid rumors. Do you actually think that if Armor All made you dash crack that they would sell it? They are one of the leading manufacturers of car care products, there is no way that they would sacrifice their reputation to sell crap. I use it every week and I love it. Yes it attracts dust and lint but it makes the interior shine and prevents sun rot. They make a low gloss natural look spray that looks pretty good. Believing this rumor is like believing that Richard Gere got a hampster stuck up his ***. Some people are so gullable.

As reported by the LA Times, when an Armor All research manager claimed that the company had covered up research that indicated Armor All caused tires & air bag covers to weaken & crack, it makes you wonder.

I personally would never let Armor All touch my car. It's just ugly how it shines so bright, it's greasy, and 2 hours later it's dustier than before.

If you don't want to listen to me, fine. Otherwise, I would recommend Vinylex.

303 works great too...low gloss...more like a factory finish. It's also got a UV protectant in it.
