I was on the fence about the manual also. Turns out, when I got my P5 (over a year ago), availability was low, and I had to take what I could get - automatic. I needed a car bad, and didn't have time to wait for a 5 speed to arrive.

I'm still on the fence about it. In traffic (Long Island is almost as infamous as Califonia for traffic jams), I like the auto. But many times I wish I had gotten the 5 speed for the fun factor.

If I had to do it over again (and who knows - someday I will), I would probably go 5-speed. I imagine I'd find something to bitch about with that too....."damn traffic - why did I get the stick!" - but overall, I wish I had gotten the stick.

The auto is a good one, and I have no problems with it. But I'd enjoy the car even more with a manual shifter.

So, from an auto owner - go stick!

Made the call today...I'm getting the standard!!!!
I have an appointment to pick it up on Wednesday (two days).

It feels like christmas.

hihoslva~I noticed in one of your pictures that you have some kind of liner in your trunk. It looks great!! Was that an option?

Travis!

Hi certainly hope the Subby WRX you're going to get isn't going to be an automatic!

The mat is a genuie Mazda accessory - called a "Cargo Tray", if I'm not mistaken.

Ask the dealer - mine was about $50, I think.
