Question Black brake dust?

http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/pw/brakedust.htm

I was reading this article but not quite sure what it's talking about? I tried checking my P-5's rims but can't really tell where I can find the dust...

What's you guys' opinions on solving this brake dust problem?

It's there. Give a few days after a wash and run your finger against part of your rim, especially your front. You will notice a black residue on your finger and a 'clean' spot on your wheel.

I just wipe the wheels down real well everytime I wash my car. Fortunately, the stock wheels on the P5 are pretty easy to clean with the exception of the lug wells. Unless you go months upon months without cleaning them, you won't have a problem.

this is an issue with EVERY car that has disc brakes...and as kcbhiw mentioned....just give it a few days of driving after a wash job...and the dust will be there on the OUTSIDE OF THE WHEEL....but unless you removed your wheels and washed the back side of them....its still there......

what I do is I detail the wheel as best as I can EVERYTIME I clean the car.....as well.....everytime I rotate the tires...which is at every oil change.....I wash the ENTIRE wheel...and wipe them down.....its easy....and you can even get in those pesky lug holes.....it makes a big difference in the look of the wheel....at least for a while.

as for the shields.....I personally don't care for them......but to each their own.
