Let me know.

I was actually referring to the ES headlights compared to the LX headlights. I meant that they would probably be a direct swap. I dont see why they would be different, but Ive seen some strange stuff in cars... so I never say I know for sure unless Ive tried it.

All:
So I have to comment about the P5 headlights and scenarios found within.
My original headlights got minor rock cracks in them. I got a replacement set of chrome ones. Prior to doing the swap, I painted the insides of the old rock crack ones (no harm done huh). By having the interior black (like the OEM Canada ones) doesn't do any justice for the light output. Actually, in hours of comparisons, there is about 30% LESS light than the chrome ones. I guess that extra reflector stuff around helps. To expell the though that the rock cracks made a difference, not really, actually minor.
However, I am considering swapping my brand new chrome headlights off of my P5 for someone with a sedan that has black headlights. The H4 bulb has a larger reflector - similiar to that of my MPV. The wiring - no problem, a little autozone connectors will help. Anyone interested?
Let me know!

I didn't paint the actual bulb reflectence pieces of plastic, only the surroundings like OEM and others posted the like on the boards. I do agree about the beam pattern of the sedan's housing.
Anyone want to trade?

i think it was mentioned above somewhere, but the P5s here in Canada have already started to ship with them "blacked out" from the factory. They are sweet.
A couple of club members here in TO have converted them...DIY.
I have yet to do it, but the basics involve baking them in the oven. (yes baking in the kitchen oven) Prying them open. Painting. Sealing.
I will post the link to the HOW TO section of our message board.

This is how I painted my Civic headlights:
**I'm am not responsible for any mishaps or problems you get from doing this mod. Here is my car I used gunmetal gray
- Take off headlights (of course)
- Put one headlight on a baking tray and set oven to warm or less than 200 degrees
- put headlight in oven for 12-15 minutes
- helps to have two people for this but start prying with a screwdriver or screwdrivers the 1st headlight
- once you get that done put the 2nd one in the oven
- do the same
- I used high temperature primer for my headlights. Use very light coats. With 15-30 minutes of drying time in between each coat. You want light coats THAT DON'T RUN!
- Wait about 1-2 hours for the last coat to dry
- use your favorite paint color and do the same. Use 3 very light coats with 15-30 minutes of drying time.
- Let the last coat dry about 12 hours. Yes this should be done at night when you don't need your car for awhile
- Clean the lens with some window cleaner to get the finger prints off
- Put everything back together and pop it back in the oven to warm up the sealant. Press back together using gloves or Mechnix gloves. Use extra window sealant to make sure there are no holes for water to get into
- Do next headlight same way and install back onto car. You may have to readjust your headlights

haha high five man, I appreciate the help, everyone seemed to avoid telling how to do it. Just one thing, have your headlights, since the painting fogged up with water? Supposedly if you get fed up with it all, you can have a body shop seal a headlight for you for not that much - just take it off your car and take it to them. Btw, I have to say you have one of the nicest/cleanest civics. Haha...I wonder how your headlights would look if they were car color.....blue eyes!
