well all of those mods all of that $$$$ for the port and polish and everything i did went boom 3000 miles later. put a vlave right threw piston # 3 it sucks yes it does wifes pissed and i am screwed for a while. the car is in KY lexington so if anyone wants to burn it go for it. JK i have a new engine for her already came from a blue MP3 with 11,000 miles on her. so not bad. 1,500 $$ bucks shiped i am kind of sad that i found one cause i wanted a FS-ZE but you have to wait forever for one and i cant leave my car 600 miles away for that long. so back to the old drawing board

I thought you had stronger valve springs on there, how did you get valve float? Did you have high compression pistons? Thats very weird. Did you downshift from 4th to 1st by mistake? (j/k)

Your car is 600 miles away?

Is it in a safe place?

Sorry about your engine. You sure have spent a lot of money on it.

going up a ramp in 3rd gear at wot to merge, shifted into 4th
and tried to pass a slower car but then noticed i needed more power so shifted down to 3rd again at 6000rpm and it was just noise. hahahaha. sad sad sad..but thats not the purpose i bought the car so its ok, i guess but dang! ill be blowing up

You said your car is in Lexington, KY. That isn't all too far from where I live. What place did you send it to?

Thumbs down

kenchan stop bashing the protege. it's a good car.... if you dont like the engine then why did you buy the pro? didnt you test drive it before buying it?
why not spend extra $$$$$$ and get another car with a v6?
my pro is fast and the engine is v.responsive i have no problems passing on the highway.

He said he DIDN'T buy the car for speed.

Some of you guys get so offended when you hear the truth that ...PROTEGES ARE SLOW!!! FACE IT!!

If you think the protege is fast, you must not have driven much cars in your lifetime.

I like my car, but me liking it isn't going to make it any faster. If you got your protege for speed and the engine, somethings wrong.

Plus I just got a new Chevy Baretta Z26 , so I guess that makes my pro feel even slower.

That car is awesome. I'll take some pics when I get a chance. (don't have a digi-cam)

Mines is Burgandy, but here's an idea of what it looks like

What do Baretta's have in them? I've never liked the look of them, I think it's awful. I've never been for a ride/drive so I have no idea how they handle or feel...just my $.02

3.1L V6, 160hp 185ftq

The handle? yuck...The pro handles a lot better. I'm more comfortable in my pro.
Plus, the pedals in the Baretta are so far back.
