A/C Drain Tube

A/C Drain Tube
Hi all:
Got a 2001 Protege LX 2.0, loaded. Lately the A/C had been acting up, like the water condensation drain pipe was plugged, so I took a look and, surprise! a bright, shiny A/C condensation drain tube was sticking right out of the firewall, but there was no rubber divertor tube attached to it.
Now, I could SWEAR there was such a thing on there: I distinctly remember a formed rubber drain tube that fit over that drain pipe that juts out of the firewall on the passenger's side; it was formed rubber, bent into a 90 degree bend downwards. (Makes sense, less dirt gets in to plug it up that way.)
Called The Dealer Parts counter, and they swear there isn't any such part, nor was there ever, just a drain pipe coming out of the firewall on the passenger's side, sticking out about 3/4".
Well, someone's nuts here. (Might be me.) Could someone look at THIER 2001 Protege with A/C, locate the condensation drain pipe on the firewall (passenger side), and tell me if there's a rubber diverter tube that fits over it and points down?
Thanks to the group in advance.

got your message. I don't have my p5 anymore but I don't recall seeing any formed rubber line for the AC drain. I've done a few motor swaps on these and don't recall it ever. I do notice on other cars though.
If you haven't picked up on it, this forum is dead and I don't ever come back here anymore.
I'd suggest www.themazdaforum.com It's a much nicer forum with owners that actually CARE about their members. Tell them "super matty p" sent you.
