I have an rx7 and was wondering how the protege radio looks like at night. I just bought one on ebay and wanted to know if it will blend in with my red gauges. Oh, and I think I read somewhere that it has a decent internalamp? Is that true?

 

Well, I can definitely say that it illumininates red.

 

The 6 disc changer that came in my car has green backlights. It looks a little different than that one, so they may be different. I don't have that radio in the car anymore, so sorry I can't get a pic.

 

p5 radio lights up red.....are you sure the radio you bought came out of a P5?

 

i have a 2001 protege LX and the radio illuminates green, not red

I have always thought it was more of an orangish red. I know VW's has the red lights and those are red red. however the "mazda" red is more of an organgish color. that's my 2 cents.
