Did you put a turbo kit on your 2003 Protege? And its still a dog? Is that what has you pissed?

You cant just slap a turbo kit on a car and expect it to run really good. It takes trial and error, testing and tuning. It takes money, it takes computer tuning for optimum performance.

When the factory does it, as the new dodge neon, they have the resources and engineering to get the combination right (hopefully).

A pro with a turbo is not a common car or combination. I commend your efforts, but unless you have a ton of money and tuning experience, i think your barking up the wrong tree.

and you dont have a lot of others who have done it to help you out, tell you what works and what doesnt.

i still dont understand why people like you just dont buy a Mustang or a used Z28. Put a turbo on one of them and then you will see some real speed....

Dodge designed and marketed this new Neon for people like you, so you might as well go get one.

Good luck

Some people like 'sleepers'. They're cars that aren't supposed to be fast but are.

And some people don't like muscle cars. All Stangs/Camaros have going for them is speed. They suck gas, suck in the snow/rain, don't handle all that great, and everyone and their grandma has them (at least in my area).

A Pro with a turbo isn't common. We need more people modding their pros and sharing their info/experiences. That's what this forum is for. After all, if the aftermarket doesn't see people trying then they'll ignore the pro.

I give you props for this last post, Mach1. You stated your view without bashing and added some compliments. Keep it up and thanks.

I think predreumusr got a lemom 1999 Protege. You can't take one experience and then generalize all Mazda's have crap reliability.

Plastic is not plastic, well at least not that I know of. Compare the plastic in the Chevrolet Cavalier and and Audi A4, then you know what I'm saying. With that said, I do think the Neon interior could have better interior materials, but it's not that shabby. My grandpa has a SX 2.0 which he got after trading in a older Neon LE. The seat material is nasty but the interior quality has improved. Still doesn't look good as my P5, but it's getting better.
