changing the o/d switch

Hi all!

I have a 3rd gen Protegé with a/t and my o/d switch is dead. I'm no mechanic but is it hard to change? I searched and i did not found any write-up about this specific problem. The dealer said it's a fairly common problem so I assume somebody has had the same issue.

thanks!

May be too late as per post date ....but the most common problem is the wires breaking in two due to back & forth usage(down close to the bottom of the shaft). Next would be the wire breaking off at the solder connection , wright on the button it self. Both are very fixable with practically no expense.
