Convince me to keep my P5

Convince me to keep my P5
Other priorities mean that I have not been able to spend away and wrench away on the P5 for some months now. I've got to admit, I am getting restless. I have been thinking of... other cars. Like the three forlorn AMC Javelins that I saw in a field last weekend up north. Straight, rust free, and probably a lot of fun after a few grand. Then, there is my recent Corvette confession. Yes, I am beginning to want an older car. New ones lack the straightforward charm, the oil in the nostrils, the stale smelling upholstery, the chrome and sharp objects aimed at your face all throughout the interior without a wit given to safety. Man, you guys better give me some good ideas, on how to keep the romance with my P5 alive a while longer. Convince me that it has character, and that I am crazy for even entertaining the growing temptation to trade her off.

how about a 67 or 68 chavell, or chevett
or if you want to shi* your pants with power buy an old charger and mod it like hell
we've got plenty of people out here running 8's on theirs and still driving it like its street legal

How much do you owe on the P5? You can only do so much to the mazda. with the older cars anything is possible. And you can womp anything, and or BLOWER anything. Nothing looks meaner than a 454 with a bigass chrome blower sticking through the hoop! 69 chevel, I'd do it !

Well, it sounds like you need a project car to me, and old muscle car. Nothing wrong with that if you're the itching to get your tools dirty. But in the mean time you'll need something cheap and reliable to drive, like a P5.

Really sounds like you want an older 'project' of sorts. That would be really cool, but not very reliable for a daily driver. Keep the P5 and slowly do a build up on your 'muscle' car.

but whatever you do dont but a cheap 2nd gen RX7 and think with a few afternoons and a couple hundred in refresher parts you can have it running....it wont turn out well for ya!
I actually bought the rx7 to use as a beater while I built the p5....that hasn't worked out real well so far!

To get back on topic - I agree w/ Phantom Cruiser, keep the p5 and build you a muscle car. My wife's cousins husband (wooh!) has an '72 chevelle with a built 400 in it - he's been working on it for 3-4 years, very nice looking car now.
