One of the better aftermarket hoods I have seen for our car.

Nice

That is nice. Does anyone know how much it would cost to get the paint done, to match the car?

Does anyone know if the seller has hoods for the 2000 Protege sedan?

this might sound like a crazy idea, but here it goes. what if you followed the link from the ebay listing to SLP's website, then e-mailed the contact on that site with your question. he is probably an expert on such matters.

You know, that might just be crazy enough to work!! Im thinking I might have to do that.

Seriously though, the guy did get back to me and he told me the following.....

We are actually working on it. It will be launched in 1-2 months. For now we only offer for the 2001-2 protégé.
.

If those hoods look as good as the ones for the 2001+ Proteges, then I might have to hold out on getting a CF hood and buy one of his hoods. It'll save me having to paint over the CF EVO hood and I would get about the same result as far as heat dissappation goes.

if i remember correctly a year or 2 ago SLP posted here that their hoods are steel, built like OEM. they are an "OEM aftermarket" (oxymoron?) for GM. they ougt to be really high quality

So does that mean its just like any other OEM aftermarket hood, except made out of steel? Will it weigh about the same as our stock hoods or more?

Got a note from Joseph Taverna of SLP this morning. The material in his hoods: "OE spec composite glass."
