decisions decisions

what to get? i might be getting a nice check (well, a nice one for someone who has no job as of right this instant) and i dunno what to get for my car. i already made the decision to spend it on car related things.

1. OBX 4-2-1 header on EBay
2. K&N Filter for my EBay intake
3. Rice lites for my car

needless to say, i want number 1 the most, but shipping is a bi*ch... by #3 i mean getting some small neons under the dash/front seats or maybe doing custom work on getting them in the A pillars but molded in.... long story, but it works out in my head.

its 350am and im tired. thanks for your opinion guys/gals.

If you have no job - why are spending money on this stuff? I assume you have thought this out and it makes sense at this time.

My $.02 ? Get 1 & 2. Blingy lights do nothing for me. Use the money instead to make a grounding kit or get an UD pulley.

...you are going to like #1 the most. Please remember that you won't be "out of the woods" on spending, though. You'll have to buy or make a MIL eliminator for it (about fifteen more bucks), plus you will need to spend another five or so bucks on anti-sieze. So, that's another twenty on top of the OBX header price, which I think is around 185 or so on e-Bay (before you factor in shipping).

Keep your eyes peeled on the for sale section of this forum. Sometimes people sell stuff like this.

Regarding the tail lights, I have a set of them, and enjoy the way they look. They are cheaper than you think, because remember you can e-Bay off the stock ones to make up for it. I unloaded my stock tail lights for $43 on Ebay. The guy who bought them owned a used car dealership out in Wisconsin, and needed them for a car that his customer was going to be picking up the following week. Thus, the true cost of the lights was around fifty bucks, shipped.

Oh, and the K&N filter... I would just buy an off-brand. Cheaper, does the same thing, and you won't notice a difference between it and the genuine article.

i agree with hughes. hold on to your cash. you'll really appreciate the fact that you did this a couple years down the road.

I'm not for spending money when you don't really have it to spend...but if I had to choose from your list I'd pick #1.

I can probably get you some blinky lights really cheap if you let me know what kind you want...i.e. neon or LED? Light bars...what size? Etc. I have a 'hookup' on this kind of thing.

My .02:

Keep the check for gas money. Forget about the bling for now. If this money is really burning a hole in your pocket, get a nice filter but you don't have to spend the money on a K&N.

no, see, point is, i got a job from a toyota dealership up the street. i know i got it because i know almost everyone up there and they said they needed a express lube guy. all they said they need was the results from a drug test (clean, i know). i SHOULD know today.

i would get #1, but shipping is 75$! call me crazy...but thats just outrageous! i really want the 4-2-1 over the 4-1 cause you get a little more low end torque.

PC - i want to get some neons for the A pillar (see pic, rough drawing) on both sides and the C pillar possibly in the back (i believe its the C)

$75 for shipping a header is worse than outrageous. Who the hell quoted that?
Have you talked to Ken at Protege Garage? There's a GB on that other forum, but he never bothered inviting us!

He said he's looking for a 4-2-1, so the OBX is out. In my honest opinion, you're not gonna see a huge gain from any single NA mod to this car, and you're not gonna feel a lot of difference between a 4-1 and a 4-2-1. If oyu start to start out in second gear or something ,then you might, but just normal driving, I dont think it'll be a problem.
