Door Lock Broken

Door Lock Broken
My left rear door will not unlock or lock when using the remote
or the interior switch. I can hear the actuator operating
for that door and I can still unlock or lock the door manually.
It seems like the control rod from the door lock motor is broken
or disconnected.
Any ideas before I tear the door apart? (one hour to remove the
door handle , 6 minutes for everything else)
Thanks guys.....

I had the same problem and replaced the actuator - it works now. The dealership wanted like $60 for the actuator so I just searched the junk yards and got one for $15. Mine was even on the same door as yours, hmmm....

It shouldn't take that long to take the door apart... I took me about 5 minutes on the front door... it should take you just about the same amount of time (or maybe about 10 minutes if you've never done it before.
Maybe the actuator just came loose from the locking mechanism like you said, and all you need to do is reattach it.

Yeah, it makes a grinding noise when you try to lock or unlock.
I want to look inside there, before I get another actuator but
it's kinda low on my list of things to do right now ...I'll post
when I get it all figured out...
Thanks for the input,
