"door open" light stays dim
Somewhere between switching out all wedge/turn signal bulbs to LED's and taking apart the gauge cluster, the little red emergency light that says your car door is open, STAYS on all the time! and it bugs the hell out of me.........it's not all the way bright, but dimly lit, during the day you can't tell in direct sunlight, but at night u definitely see it...........anyone know what would cause one of these sensor/lights to stay dim??? a guy told me at work that when you install LED lights it will make that same light stay on.....but that's hard to believe, i know it makes the blinker blink faster because it's telling me the "wrong" bulb is installed.........

you need a blocking diode.....
has anyone tryed to install their alarm by using the hookups through your keyless entry system........I'm trying to get the door locks thing to work and it's just not working.......on the keyless entry system you have two hook ups a priority wire that just opens the drivers door when you ground it and when you ground it with a resistor then it locks all the doors. on the other wire you ground it out and it opens all the doors or if you put a resistor on it then it locks all the doors. I just finished installing my alpine SEC-100s alarm and it's all screwy. It doesn't do anythign when i lock the doors but when i disarm the alarm it locks all the doors. Other people have suggested that I use 3 relays and bypass the factory relays all together........but this seems stupid since i can manually ground the wires out and do what i want the doors to do but when the signals from tha alarm go to the wires they don't seem to do what they are suppose to do.

ya i had the same thing happen to me when i got my compustar alarm/remote installed. It turned out to be a ground fault, so all they had to do was isolate the ground wire from the compustar brain

yeah well i wanted to install it mostly cause i like to do work like that........but it's gets so irrating when you can figure out why it's doing something it's not suppose to do....anywho looks like i might have to pay the 80$ anyways.

Well I was finally able to do it!!! I wired my car alarm through the keyless entry system...... you have to use 3 relays through the keyless entry system as you normally would have to use if you went through the dash......there is no real advantage to going through the keyless entry system it's just nice to have the alarm brain nice and high to get better reception (plus you can hide the kill switch back there for the fuel pump instead). I wasn't able to get the priority lock to work at first, but after i stuck in a cap inline to create allow the relay for the priority relay to stay open a little longer that did the trick.....anywho i'm just happy I beat mazda's wiring system......it's beaten me too many times and it's nice to win one for a chance.

why did they get rid of the preview function before you post a response???? It's nice to read my response before I send it........most of the times I don't make any sense. It would be nice to try to fix it before people get a chance to make fun of my atrocious spelling and grammar
