Driver Door Ratle on my 2002
#17
The dealership guys said that they "adjusted" the door panel? For all that I know they gave it a good boot. Never really got into specifics, all I know is that it no longer rattles. I know that I didn't buy new to hear squeaks and rattles and I'm sure you're all the same. If it annoys you, bitch to the service person until they fix it. It iss probably just a matter of tightening something stupid.

my car was "adjusted" at 3 different dealers. still rattles, ticks,
and a damn porter scratched my car when i left overnight.
like the rest of you guys the sound comes and goes. so far the entire panel is replaced, window regulator and motor, so those parts can be rule out. anyone having any luck please post back.

I too have this problem and have discussed it on other threads. I too have taken my 2001 ES into the dealership to have my door adjusted to no avail. Alas, on the verge of defeat, I have at last come to a solution. Whenever my door begins to rattle, I extend my right arm- grab the left most of two console mounted *****- and turn clockwise until the rattle can be heard no more!
Yeah I know I'm a jack-***... But hey this works for whiny wives/girlfriends/significant others too!!!

I think I finally found my rattle by the passenger door. Believe it or not, it was the seatbelt. The male part of the buckle that hangs on the strap was rattling against the piece of plastic that holds it up.
So now if it bugs me, I just buckle up the passenger seat belt.

ive posted this in another post, but ill stick it here too since its getting a lot of attention. the change thing next to the fog light switch in my car rattles, and sounds like it is coming from inside the door. ive not had time to take it out to fix it, but just sitting a quarter in it makes it go away for a temp fix. this probably wont help most of your, or maybe not any of you, but it was what turned out to be my rattle.
i also said this once before, but ill say it again. does anybody else have an issue with the small windows in the rear doors rattling. i can barely hear it when im in the front with everthing turned off, and even then only if i really try and hear it, but if you ride in the back its very noticable. especially when you hit bumps and such. my girlfriend said it about drove her nuts when us and some friends went on a trip that involved a 7 hour drive in each direction. the small window in both doors are rattling, and i cant figure out why, or what to do about it.

I guess that's one of the price you have to pay for having such a nice sporty suspension -- the rattles are amplified on non-smooth roads.
Oh. And if you think the rattling situation is bad now, wait till winter comes...
This is the only major gripe that i have with the P5.

Try dynomatting your doors (and the edges of the parts of it) or reattaching them. It's not extremely hard, but I still prefer not to do it. I had a rattle in my driver door too and had them readjusted.
