Driving Manual Was Hell...

My first time driving an manual car - my friend's 91 integra.

After a hour, I finally got the car to start up without stalling. Once the car starts up, I can change gears up and down no problem. The car was hella jerky, I know it's because of my driving.

Are the 2002 Protege5s this difficult to drive? Has technology changed in the last 10 years?

None of them are hard to drive . . . . once you get used to it.

just be happy you didnt learn how to drive stick like i did. my first car had died. my and my dad went to west virginia one weekend to go caming. I think it was either in 97 or 98. we were on our way back home, and we stopped at a used car dealer to look at cars. they guy had just got back from an auction. i got a 94 mitsubishi mirage off of him for $2000. it was a salvage title repo, thats why it was so cheap. but everything in it was in good shape, and had been fixed up. only thing was i didnt know how to drive stick, but it and the other car we had with us were both stick. i had about a 20 minute crash course in the lot of the parking lot to learn how to drive, and from there it was a 500 mile trip home. after about my 3rd stall, i was in good shape except when i was sitting on hills. that was a bitch. once you get used to driving any stick, you can drive any other car with one. the only car ive ever had trouble driving since was my dads mazda b5200, which has a hydraulic clutch in it that lets out really slow. i stall it at least once every time i drive it.
