All these plans are well and good, but man, you had better have deep pockets to do it all. 1) Figure about $3500 for a proper, intercooled turbo kit (unless you want to take it on yourself).
2) Stereo stuff - God knows. Sounds expensive. Lets say a conservative $400 for what you have left to buy, but I really have no idea.
3) Rim & Tires - figure about a grand for a set of mid-level aftermarket rims and tires. Figure on a lot more for genuine parts.
4) Eibach springs - about $250 DIY, $550 if a shop does it. Struts can be expensive, depending on how adjustable you need them to be.
You are already at $5150, and we haven't baked in the cost of struts, ECU, lightened pulleys, brake parts, your exhaust..... but my point is, that is a ton of money to spend on a Protege DX. Some of us are crazy enough to do it. Are you?

Juddz you should really look a bit closer before answering..He wants mazda wheels to look stock, and he already owns the stereo equipment

To the guy who is asking about my sanity and funds situation. I don't plan on going out this afternoon and buying everything I have on this list. I'd rather get it together on paper than walk into the next Pepboys and buying out all the plastic spinners I see. I don't pretend to know everything. That's why I'm here. To learn how to do it the right way, with the right stuff. I did make a comment to the money problem in my first post. It was sarcastic though, I apologize for the miscommunication.
Please excuse my ignorance, but If I get a turbo kit does it come with everything I need or will I need to get a blow off valve, or any other miscellanious parts?
I was questioning the ECU, because in a '94 RX-7 it is vital to the life of the engine to upgrade your ECU any time you upgrade the turbos, midpipe, downpipe, etc. So I just assumed it would be necessary to look into it. If not then I won't worry about it. It might just be a wankel thing.

In any car INCLUDING a rotary it is vital you upgrade your FUEL MANAGEMENT when upgrading existing turbo or adding a turbo aftermarket, this does not necessarily mean an ECU upgrade. That isn't the only way to do it. So no it's NOT a wankel thing

Yeah I was looking at Turbonetics. Like a T3 or something. Again, I'm not sure about what is best so any info I could get from you guys would be great! So your ECU does not regulate Fuel Management. Gotcha. So if I get a Turbo I need to get a Fuel Management system, NOT an upgraded ECU.
Sorry for all the Noob stuff but it's all about doing it right. Anyone know of a place in Atlanta to go and look around, or get questions answered?
Thanks.

Another words if you don't ask for MAZDA wheels just because it has 4x100 bolt pattern you might end up with the wrong wheels. So ask!

a few quick pointers...
#1. Wagner Motorsports makes turbo kits witrh the Garret and Turbonetics series of turbo's. If you want a T3 turbo Wagner can set you up with a complete including everything you'd need for 160-180whp for about $3200.
#2. Wheels. Buy steelies...you know winter beater rims...they look stock and lame but are SUPER light. Also, when you have steelies on people usually don't notice if you're running drag radials or super sticky tires.
#3. SAVE UP YOUR MONEY AND DO IT ALL AT ONCE. Buying things in pieces will ensure that you end up forgetting stuff and never get your build 100% complete.
#4. no turbo kit will be a sleeper...they whistle and woosh too much to keep it a secret.
