dyno numbers on P5
ok i dynoed my P5 today. its a 2002.5 and is completly stock except i took off all that extra plastic on the intake and for the dyno i took out the air filter. the rest is stock. i don't have a scanner so i have to just say the numbers but i put down 103.8hp and 111.7 ft/lbs. i plan on running up to mazcare this week to try out their exhaust and see what it does but atleast i have base numbers. not bad though for a completly stock motor on pump gas. i almost kicked some litle ***** *** though when he started talking **** about my ride and saying it was a waste of money, but i think i got it straightened out .

Lupus, those numbers are impressive - especially the torque. I'm assuming they are corrected at the wheel numbers? For comparison sake, Sport Compact Car dynoed a 02 Miata @ 112hp/105ftlbs, so yours sound about right.

mine is a manuale transmission. how many miles are on your car? i had 3740 miles when i dynod it yesterday morning. ohh also did you do a basline run completely stock with the intake in place and intact like the factory?

I heard that the August issue of Turbo mag has a Protege w dyno stats. I went to buy the mag at a bookstore and can't find it. I am curious to see the stats and what was being used. If anybody has this issue could you scan the article for me.
thanks

no **** running with the filter off is bad for the motor. the fact is even with the resonator off its not going to be close to not having any intake at all. oh well what do i know about cars anyways. when i dynoed with the filter on(my second pull, third was with no filter) i made a 102.xxhp and same tq. yes i am impressed and i need to dyno again with all my **** in my car i got now ex. mild cams from sunbelt, exhaust and soon to be injen intake
