eBay Intake

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-05...17144554QQrdZ1

Alright, can anyone see what this is missing? There's gotta be a catch if it's that cheap, but the description is very short. All it says is "complete aluminum pipe with 3" filter."

Looks like it's all there. One thing to think about is the (lack of) quality of those eBay filters. When I got an eBay intake for my P5, I tossed the filter and bought a K&N from Kragen. 10 bucks well spent, IMO.

That could be ugly if the filter to exploded and got sucked into the intake while you were driving.

yeah, an intake is only as good as it's filter.

I have a K&N filter on stock rubber piping, but what you guys are saying is that wouldn't be a bad 30 dollars spent? I'm looking for an Injen CAI knockoff, so this should be it right? I never really thought $200 some dollars was ever worth it for an intake, so as long as this isn't junk I guess I'll go for it. Thanks for the input guys.

Looks ok. I doubt the filter is very good, though. I'd replace that in a hurry.

Bought .. I'll let ya guys know how the install goes.

EDIT: Speaking of install, this is gonna require me to take off my bumper isn't it? I guess this is where I ask for any little tips or tricks I need to know to make my life easier.

Why would it require you to take off your bumper? It is only a short ram intake isn't it? Short rams stay in the engine compartment

Even if it's a CAI(which it appears not to be), you can just unscrew the 5-or-so plastic screws in the wheel well and access the filter from there(at least with an Injen).

Ya it only looks like a short ram intake to me. So if thats the case you don't even need to screw with the wheel well. Just pop your hood and replace your stock tube with the new one.

I guess I'm just a dumbass like that sometimes. To me the piping in the picture looked too long to be a short ram so I was under the impression that it was a cold air that goes inside the fender. I guess I was expecting that to be the case anyway, since it was only $31 with shipping. It's alright, it'll work!
