Question Mazdaspeed Engine Cover for MP5

Just wondering if it is possible to order a engine cover, like the one that mazda has for the MP3 and the new mazdaspeed protege, for my protege5. If it is possible can someone tell me if it will fit, the part number, and possibly the price from mazda canada. thanks.

THe cover you speak of will not be a direct bolt on. It bolts to threads on the valve cover. The valve cover on the MP3 and teh Mazdaspeed protege have threads on them. You can fashion this piece to work with the current setup but it takes some modifications to do it. Most people have used radio backstraps.

Search the topic and the answers will be found

You can buy the new valve cover, and plastic piece from Mazda but the cost is pretty high

I looked into this already as I wanted to do that to my P5 but when I saw what had to be done I changed my mind. Over $550 CDN for a dress up part! No thanks. Here is the link to the tread where this was talked about.
