Unzipped, important you go to the dealer immediately...I had almost EXACTLY the same prob, kept thinking it was coming from the engine...took it to my dealer, turned out I had major failure in my 1st and 2nd gears of the tranny...they pulled it and all kinds of shavings in the fluid....get it checked out immediately before you get stranded

They also claim there has been no report of ANY problems with a clutch chatter to any other service centers and must be the way I drive... I'll have to post a question to see if anyone else has in fact reported such I problem. From what I can recall, I wasn't the only one.

i would take it to another dealer. i have never heard of or had anyone complain of the problems you are having but obviously something is wrong. if the dealer says they cant do anything to replicate or cannot do anything then tell them to call the mazda tech line and see if they have had any problems with what you describe. if a good technician looked at your car this should already have been done but you never know. just out of curiousity you arent leaving the car running while filling up are you? normally that would cause a check light to come on so i am assuming not. anyways try the routine with the dealer and if nothing comes of it i would replace those hoses with the factory ones and see if it goes away. if it ended up being a hose that you replaced the dealer is going to charge you for the part and the labor which will probably be pretty steep. so its definitely better to find out for yourself. good luck and let me know how it goes.

maxx mazda did you try to reset your base idle after the mods. There is an air bleed screw on my 98 prot lx. You jump out the grd and ten pins in the MECS connector and that lets your car run at base i could be to low now .Not sure which newer models still have the pins in the connector.

I actually have... The service manager kinda laughed at me and said there's nothing they can do because it's intermittant. Every problem I have has to be duplicated for them or they won't do anything for it. Only once have they actually popped the hood to check anything out. They replaced the plugs thinking that was contributing to my clutch chatter. Maybe I should just bring it to another dealer.
