How much do you approximately get per tank, in the city and in the winter? Preferablly in KM please.

Or how much are you acheiving now in city driving per tank (if you don't drive in winter climates right now)

 

At the moment, with our -35 windchill in edmonton, I've been getting 400 city per tank. Normal winter tempuratures, usually closer to 500. In the summer, i can get 600 per tank.

Some things that influence the milage: Winter tires on steelies, car only gets plugged in below -25 while i work, while not at work, car is in un-heated garage.

Summer driving is usually moderately aggressive.

 

That's still crazy, i'm only getting 270km per tank...what's wrong with my car how the hell are you guys getting 400-500km city driving??!

 

I'm down here in Ohio getting somewhere around 560km (340 miles) per tank. It's not quite as cold though.

 

Is that city or more highway driving?

 

It's probally 50/50. I do a little bit of racing though.

 

I think the correct question you should ask is how the hell you can only get 270km per tank! Winnipeg weather is not much different than Edmonton weather at the moment, so the weather factors can be eliminated. Do you have a car starter, and if so, how long do you let it idle? Have you switched to synthetic oil yet?
Is your engine running very rough?

 

Well in Winnipeg over the past few days we had -54c weather. I don't have a car starter and i'm using my block heater. Today I had an oil change so hopefully this will help.

It's hard to track my fuel economy accurately with this type of weather, but hearing everyone else getting 400km in winter still makes me wonder.

BTW mine is a 4spd sport auto, I use the auto mode more than the manumatic at the moment.

Well, with -54 with wind chill, you can expect really crappy milage. When I said normal winter, I mean in the range of -10 to -25. If you only get 270 km per tank during winter with tempuratures near -10 to -25, someting is wrong, and you need to talk to your dealer.

 

With that temperature I should reach about 300km-320km is that still kinda low? I also measure just below the 1/4 tank line, just before the gas light comes on.

 

if you fill up near the 1/4 full on the indicator, there is still quite a bit of gas in your tank. I believe the tank on the Pro is 55 litres. Factor in your milage of 300-320km per 3/4 tank. If you run the tank nearly dry, never rev over 3000RPM, auto tranny, your milage sounds about right.

 

Aprox how much km is left between the 1/4 mark to the gas light mark?

Last year I had a 02 LX 5 spd, I was reachign about 350km in the winter (filing up near the 1/4 mark) but the winter wasn't as harsh as it is now.

 

This is the point where I fill up:

 

if that is where you fill, you have another 100 KM in your tank, perhaps a bit more. Like I said before, factor in that your tank is only 3/4 empty. If you go longer between fills, you will likely hit tha magic 400-500 range that most others are getting. Also, your prior car, the 02 LX had either a 1.6 or 1.8 motor. The ES has a 2.0, which uses more gas. If you were comparing the mileage vs your prior car, the ES will be the more expensive car to fill.
