Question Extended Warranty?

Gonna buy me my first New Car. The Goddam P to the 5!
Being that I'm a rookie to the New Car Game, I was wondering if any of you had some advice regarding Extended Warranty.

Good Idea or Not worth it?

oh and if it is a good idea how long should I extend it for?

Thanks for reading this post.

I'd say not worth it when you're buying a good quality import. I didn't bother getting one on my new Protege. If you're gonna buy domestic, well then depending on the car, it might be a good idea.

don't bother....at least not now....you have three years to make up your mind....

the extended warrantees can be purchased later....as long as you have like three months left on the factory warrantee....

and the biggest reason NOT to....is at least if you were, you need to pay cash for it up front...otherwise they tack it onto your loan...and then you are paying interest on the warrantee too...

get your new ride....if your luck is like nearly all of ours....you will drive your car for many many years with no problems at all...just do all the regular maintenance and don't beat the car and you should be fine.

i paid $1000 for a 7/100,000 bumper to bumper. i plan on keeping the car for a long time and put abot 25,000 miles on it a year. i fell it's worth it. one head gasket or major tranny problem and it's paid for it's self.

I made the mistake of buying the Extended warranty.....but I have now removed my head from my *** and returned the warranty....The dealership wasn't too happy with me.
