Factory Alarm for p5?
Does anyone has a factory installed perimeter alarm on your p5? According to security manual, it should be 8" above the bottom of dash board. But I couldn't find it. Does anyone know where is it?
Thanks a lot!

I'll be going to the dealer sometime next week to get the sensetivity (sp) turned down a bit.
I find it a bit too sensative at the setting it is at now.
When i go, i'll ask where the controller is for it and i'll let you know if they tell me anything.

Evil Homer,
I just called the Mazda USA yesterday, they just faxed me a diagram of the shock sensor location, and how to adjust it. The sensor module has a turning **** which controls the sensitivity of the alarm. It is located under the dash board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity, and turn it counter clockwise to reduce sensitivity. However, I do encourage you to take it to dealer and ask them to adjust. I just like to share the infoo in the forum. I hope it helps.

point of interest: the early perimeter alarms do NOT have sensitivity adjustment on them. i have a 2001 pro es with the perimeter alarm, and i have to practically open a door to get the thing to go off. and i asked my dealer if the sensitivity could be adjusted. they said "sure" and went to look for the shock sensor under the dash, and it wasn't there! then someone from the service garage said that it was something added to the later model alarms.

Spiderman, you say you dont recommend adjusting the sensitivty? Its so easy a child could do it. Adjust it to suit your needs. To high will cause the alarm to go off even if a car goes by, to little you will need to break a window or open a door. I live near an airport, and the planes make the alarm go off sometimes if I have it to high.
