Feel so smooth~~~~~!
My P5 just had its first oil change at 4800 miles. I also had the transmission fluid flushed and refilled. Craps during the break in period are out of the system, yeah! The car is smoother and more willing to rev! I will put Mobil1 in at 10000 mile next time.

then get on the road and take you sweet ride on road trip and work it in, i've had mine since dec. and have 8500 miles on it. i just go on road trips cause i like to drive the baby all over, ...only thing is the tickets, they start to add up. but hey to me the rush of takin on those high speed corners is worth it.
trust me take a week off and tear up the road.

I can't wait to pickup my new 2002 ES tomorrow! I took it for a test drive a few days ago, the dealer gave it to me for 3 hours. It kept on growing on me the longer I had it. I drive to work a little over an hour one way every day, so it should be fun to take it for a spin!

My 323F (Protege5) has 3000km/1800miles and is starting to behave . The first 600 miles I noticed that it didn't wanted to rev high. Now the engine sound past 5.000 rpm sounds very nice, it seems that breathes better. I just can't wait to have the baby serviced and the oil changed...

Let'er buck if you want, it never hurts to change the oil too much. And like someone else mentioned, you don't know if the dealer changed the oil before it was delivered to you. If your car has been on a lot for two months before you took delivery, then right now might be a decent time to change it, b/c the corrosion inhibitors and soaps might be going the way of dodo slowly. But it's your buck so you get the final say. I personally love the placebo effect of driving away after a fresh change, It feels like 10hp have been added.
