A contact that I just made has offered to make Fiberglass or C/F hoods for the 01+ Proteges. That includes the DX, LX, ES, MP3 and Protege5.

The fiberglass hoods will have a hood scoop configuration that WE decide on. To keep prices down we must all decide on one type of hood, and if we Want C/F or fiberglass. I choose the fiberglass because we have already have the Tri-Point C/F hood in play. This will give us options. The contact needs 7 persons for the order. The more the better and price may go down. For the fiberglass we are looking anywhere from $200 to $300 and the the C/F under $400. Now if this all works out, he has agreed to ship it free to those along the mid eastern seaboard, if we can all find a decent place to meet and pic them up, we simply own him gas money for his truck. All other I will get prices for. Shipping more than one hood to a destination will keep prices down also.

Now this is currently in the planning stage and I want to hopefully have all buyers ready by Mid to late January. He then needs a hood for molding. If you have one to spare for a short time, it would be helpful, otherwise, I'll be searching junkyards. Or if you order the TriPoint C/F hood it would be helpful to use your existing hood.

He has also agreed to do other molded parts at request so there may be future group orders for parts for our cars, be they fiberglass or C/F

My current vote is for a fiberglass hood similiar if not identical to the one presented on the 626MPS shown below. The scoops would be hollow and could be made for functional use.

Opinions are welcome, also pictures or suggestions to the type of hood that we must all agree on. Thanks for reading this long post
