force induction...
mazda have released the P5/MP3 with such enthusiasm, and yet...no turbo/supercharger kits available yet? my condolences...
anyways, i read the thread someone posted about making a kit. at 200hp (flywheel), i sympathize with you automatic drivers. losing an estimated 20% to the wheels. even with those numbers what do you guys think you will be doing at the track? mid to high 14s? com'on guys. at least its not enough power to give you tremendous torque steer back to the subject, how will the plan on reprogramming the computer as stated? its not easy, a stand alone would probably be easier than trying to reprogram it. and do you really thinkk you'd need a stand alone with 200 mighty hp??? has anyone explored other options such as superchargers yet? a root type (i prefer root over centrifugal) supercharger could be a big advantage over turbo for street/road track use since it has a linear power delivery...com'on, get off your asses and start pushing them tuners to start tunning. why has the mp3/p5 society been so quiet and dormant?

I'm working on a turbo kit now for the public give me about 2 more months and I will know for sure if I can release it. It will produce around 170 at the wheel under 5-7 PSI of boost intercooled. Other than that Corksport and Rotary Performance are both working on turbo kits as well for the Protege.

honda owner? yes, as a matter of fact, i do own a honda. in jap, they would call it the honda nsx. in the states, its known as the acura nsx. along with my "honda," there is a '01 nogaro blue s4, '01 solar yellow is300 and a '95 maxima.....not as amazing as your collection, but it gets me by.

what kind of manifold are you using? i am guessing 5~7 psi at stock compression? how is the auto tranny shifting at minimal boost? what size turbo and intercooler? will you be using an air to air cooler? i am guessing that fuel setup will remain stock also?

Since you have all the money, why don't you go and build us that roots type blower??? Nobody else wants to. Not even Jackson Racing...
I know I've sent requests to various suppliers, but they all say the same thing. "No such plans..."
Bell Engineering is supposed to build a turbo as well as Tri-Point...I know they will be using piggy back systems to help with fuel demands. And if you think a programmable set-up is a waste for 200 horse, you might want to rethink that.
Personally, I would rather spend the extra money up front to ensure reliable power later...
By the way, what do you plan on doing with your S4??? I heard Audi is going to make a better one in the new A4 body style...

JohnL,
What is your purpose here? I personally don't care if you have a freakin RUF porsche or a McLaren F1. It one thing to brag about your cars, it's another to assume nobody here is trying to expand protege's aftermarket. Anyway, there are 3 or 4 turbo kits in the works. Zero supercharger kits planned. Follow SCC magazine next few issues and you can get some idea of mods for the protege or read the FAQ.

the s4 i tiptronic, i currently have a few mods on it:
giac X chip ('01 L box)
giac tip chip
forge diverter valve
evo downpipe
borla/neuspeed exhaust
bmc cda box
the new a4 body is out...the '02 s4 still retains the older body style, in '03 the new bodystyle s4 should be released. i dont like the new a4 styling cause it looks quite heavy.
as for the bell engineering. i am not a big fan of bell's. their twin turbo for the nsx sucks imo. from what i hear, they are working on a turbo for the newer mx5 1.8 (miata).

Why are so many of you guys so negative? Why must you take everything as an insult? What cars JohnL owns isn't of interest to me, but I assume that if he's here on this board he has some interest in the Protege/MP3/Protege 5. We all know and agree that the car could use more power. I think that's all John was trying to say. It may not have come out right, but all you have to do is tell him to keep reading the board to get a better idea of what people are doing. I realize we have almost 800 members now, and they are all going to have different personalities, but let's try to make this group something positive and take pride in it. Just my $0.02.

Don't like arrogance, but maybe it just came out sounding wrong, anyways, welcome to the board

I look at it like this, either John owns all the cars he mentioned, in which case it's not arrogance, it's confidence. He must be doing something right, and personally I wouldn't mind knowing what it is. Second, he doesn't own the cars, in which case it's pretty sad to have to pretend, and why get caught up in that? My guess is he does, since he sounds like he knows something about them.
