Found solution to door rattle
This fix is for the metallic ting sound that some of you have in the driver door. The rattle occurs when you drive with the sunroof or any windows opened. Sometimes it happens when all windows are closed but it's not as likely.
Now...for the fix all you need is some foam strip with a self-adhesive backing.
Take the door panel off (There are many reference on this so I won't cover it here).
Inside the door panel there is a piece of metal support at the top. It's silver in color and is right behind the window seal. Look closely at the metal support and you'll see oval shaped indentations along the surface. I think there are three indentations in total.
This surface is banging against the door frame and this is the cause of the rattle. Now depending on where your rattle comes from (mine is from the one near the lock tab) you apply the foam material as needed.
Sorry but no pics as I didn't have my digi cam with me yesterday. But the hardest part is to take the door apart and that's been covered everywhere.
Please post back if it works for you or not.

ERRRR....the rattle came back
After the fix it was fine for about a week or so then the rattle slowly came back. Time to open up the door again and see what's going on.
Hey nramsey did you try to fix yours? How did it turn out?

I just started noticing a rattle coming from my dash as well over the last week. It is mainly audible when driving on choppy or pavement that isn't very smooth. It is pretty annoying actually, but really not all that loud. Just annoying.

can you get any pics of what you doing? Cause that would be very nice. At least it would be easier to follow your youghts. plus, if you know how to fix that noise, everyone would like to see. It's just better.
PS I think my noise come from lifting mechanics being misaligned.

Ya I'll take some pics when I open it up next time.
I think it has nothing to do with the window mechanism...reason being that the noise occurs regardless of the window's position. Now I can duplicate the noise without driving the car. Just lower my window all the way then pull on the door handle (the part that you pull when closing the door).

I had a problem like thet before: only when the door is closed it will make that ugly rattle. dealler adjusted the striker in the lock. It worked. But now I have funny noise when the windows are open 1/2-1 in and it is not weather strip. I opened the door and I don't knnow where it is coming from. I have to take the car to a difference Mazda dealler to try to adjust runners.
