Fuel Injector Cleaner for 2001 Protege LX 2.0l
I started doing all the minor maintenence work for my gf's protege after I found out how much she was getting ripped by her Mazda dealership.. I always like to use the brand cleaner that the dealership suggests to ensure that there'll no problem with the warranty. So what brand does Mazda use for fuel injector cleaner? I'm assuming Valvoline cuz that's what kind of oil they used to put in her car.

you think the dealership knows what type of fuel injector cleaner you use?!??!?
Go out and find "BG's 44K". It's great stuff, probably the best. If you can't find it get "Berryman's Fuel Injector Cleaner"...good stuff also.

I believe the owner's manual actually recommends NOT to use fuel injector cleaner...but with that said I've used Lucas fuel injector/upper cylinder head cleaner before. More of preventative maintenance though, so not sure how well it actually cleaned the injectors.

Stick with the "B.G. 44K" Bg products are not available to the public, therefore are more concentrated than other cleaners available. Bg also offers a Fuel Induction Service which should work wonders for your fuel system. The car will smoke while the service is being performed, that is the carbon being removed and burned off. The F.I.S. does not eat carbon, it breaks the eats the material that bonds the carbon to your internal parts. You will see better gas mileage, more performance, and better throttle responce. Check out all thier products @ www.bgprod.com.
