When did you mention the download? Did an admin delete the thread?

As for downloading it, anyone can. Anyone can register. Try it.

I mentioned it about a week or so ago. Im not sure, but I could not gain access to thread, so I have to assume an admin blocked me out of the thread.

Maybe the purpose of them putting up this thread is simply want to advertise their web site. To get more people to visit it, ya know!

Someone should feel lucky I am not pissed by this. Otherwise, I will go buy that manual myself, scan them all pages by pages and put up another webpage for people to download for free, and you guys can forget about that register crab and that link.

Damn you suck Mach I. You're gonna get in trouble son....god damn cheaters....

Who exactly did I take advantage of? Who did I cheat? You act like I robbed a bank and stole money from some little old lady or something.

I have a question, it may sound like a stupid question, but why are racers only entitled to the download? I can line my car up at the track and make a couple passes and mail them some time slips, and then I am better than everybody else and can have a maintenance manual for free?

Im lost on this concept? Is Mazda trying to get some kind of advertising by offering people who drive thier cars at the track a manual for free? And whats to keep the racer from burning copies of this manual and distributing them to all his buddies anyway?

I think you are clearly over reacting, and many people here agree with me.

No harm, no foul. It seems like you are taking it personally as you appparantly are a registered Mazda racer and you act like I took something from you. Like I said earlier, I have a word for this, but I wont bother repeating it.

I agree with the fact that you can't post the download here, but why does TheMan have to be such a jerk? I've never seen him help anyone with any of his replies, he's always rude to people and sometimes he even insults them for no reason whatsoever .
I'm not saying that TheMan shouldn't do his job by making people obey the forum rules, but could he at least be polite while he's at it? if he can't be nice to people, then leave it to the other mods to do their jobs.
All of the other moderators are very nice and helpful.

OK, been trying to keep outta this, but here goes...

The whole reason for the mere existence of Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development (MMD) is to promote Mazdas in all forms of motorsports. Yes, it is a form of advertising. If Mazdas succeed in competition, more racers will buy Mazdas, wanna-be racers (whose numbers exceed racers by ~20:1) will buy Mazdas, their families and friends will hear about their Mazdas and buy them too, so on and so forth.

So yes, according to MMD, we racers ARE better than everybody else. This is why they are helping us out with free manual downloads. This is also why the MMD Team Support program has all sorts of other benefits, such as contingency money (i.e. factory prize money) for winning races in a Mazda, and the ability to buy Mazda factory parts at dealer cost (~40% off retail). IMHO the last benefit alone is reason enough to join MMD- the cost of running 2 (only 2!) drag races or autocrosses will pay for itself within a year. Joining is E-A-S-Y. I strongly recommend that you quit whining and join.

And what's to keep a racer from distributing the manual to his friends? It's called copyright law. BTW the regular shop manual comes as looseleaf paper and can be easily photocopied. But guess what, that's illegal too! Just because you can do it with the push of a button over the Internet doesn't make it right.

BTW try and ignore TheMAN's raving. He gets like that sometimes. Peace, all.

Well, I downloaded that manual too, so everybody puke on me too and call me jerk, ***@#$%,

now I decide if im racing it or not, as you see in my signature, I've raced it a bit, and as for now, in straight line is slow just because I DONT KNOW THIS CAR!!! My mitsubishi mirage 1.5L automatic is doing nearly the same time and the track so, in december I will try the "SoloUno" with my P5.

Yeah I think that too, and I agree with you MACH1

JAC, I've seen him help a LOT of people here, and yes, sometimes (not always) hes rude with the "use the search", but thats ok.

and mach1? yer an *******. you know why people pay such huge prices at dept stores? do you know why car insurance premiums are a bitch? cause of fucktards like you who think it's okay to steal from the big bad corporation. why don't go download some warez? i mean, bill gates has enough money right? windows crashes all the time, it does'nt deserve your hard earned money. ugh. hey, i got an idea, why not embezzle money from a bank? they'll never notice 2 pennies from every account! i mean, it's not like you have'nt busted your *** at every job you ever had.. common, you deserve it.. people like you make me puke. you use it, just buy the damn thing.
No, your the ashole. Mazda put that material on the web and made it available to anybody who registered with them. Thats what I did, and thats not a crime in my eyes. So I fibbed a little about racing my car...big freaking deal. Welcome to the real world.

If Mazda was so concerned about the manual, and people downloading it, they wouldnt have made it available, now would they.? Did mazda make it so you have to confirm your registration before allowing access to the manual? No , they didnt. I wonder why? On Mazdaspeed website (i think) it even mentions a free manual downlaod is available and links you right to it. Did I steal it? No, Mazda made it available and I took avantage of the opportunity.

I guess you are **** retentive as well.

Hey, I got a better idea. Quit calling me names and make some intelligent comments.

You have assumed a lot about me considering you know absolutely nothing about me, which doesnt say much for your intelligence.

Can you clarify please? I dont understand how myself, being a professional mechanic, would use a factory maintenance manual in a "silly personal selfish" way.

My god this is one long bitchy thread.

Anyway - Mach1 what you did was wrong!

But, I wonder how many people bitching about this have illegal operating systems, games, MP3's, etc. sitting on their computer right now. If you do then you have absolutely no right to bitch because:

You broke the same frickin law he did.

I see his point though. Its kind of absurb for us to have to pay $100 for the shop manual when the development cost and profit is being taken out of every Mazda service dealership in the country. That is way above their cost to develop/produce that book and they do it because they have a monopoly on that information for several years (Just like the Vole, I mean Microsoft). Same thing they do with less common or non-standard automotive parts (body panels, etc).

Wow, I am really surprised at the negative reaction from so many of you.

Its not like I went computer hacking to get the thing. Mazda was promoting it on one of their websites, and I was able to download it without actually racing my car, and some people take this to be a very serious crime?

Come on...

Its a manual. I bet 99.5% of Mazda owners will never buy that manual anyway. Most typical car owners dont buy the shop manual. they get the $15.00 haynes or chiltons and get by with that for what they need to do.

Those manuals are produced for the mechanics who work at Mazda dealerships to use. Thats why they make them. Its part of the cost of building cars. They dont expect to sell them to the average owner in the first place.

I think them making it available as a web download is a great thing and good for customer relations.
