Gen3/MP3 vs P5 threads
Hello all,
I was just wondering...note for the moderators if there are enough Gen3 people out there to split the Gen3/MP3 from the P5...don't get me wrong, I wish the P5 or MP3 was around in 99 'cause I would have bought it over the Gen3.
There are a lot of simularities between the cars but I find there are many differences aswell.
Unfortunatly the P5 and MP3 are much more performa-sized from the factory over the Gen3...for instance I find the P5/MP3 crowd lacking in brake discussions because it isn't as much of an issue.
If anyone is tuned into my thinking, let it out, if not that's okay...I'm not bitchin' jus' suggestin'!!!!!

It was that way before, but there were enough posts at the time to justify them being separate. We're looking at several different ways to make the sections more intuitive right now. Jeff should be making some changes soon once we figure it out.

Re: Gen3,MP3 & P5 threads...
Hey all,
Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree.
Can anyone tell me the nitty-gritty differences between the Canadian LX-touring and the US ES?
My car ('99 Canadian LX-touring) has 4-bolt 14" steel wheels with wheel discs, front disc & tiny rear drum brakes. Did the US ES edition get better stuff? The new P5 has 4-wheel 5-bolt disc.
I do believe the '00 Gen3 got 4-disc possibly as an option but with 4-bolt (I think). But since the intro of the P5 the Gen3s I've seen running around have 5-bolt wheels(in Canada).
I'd like to upgrade to 4-disc eventually...possibly when I install a 2.5L V6 (dream)!

TheMAN...lick n' stick performance!
Basically the LX-Touring Edition consists of...
1. Rear trunk spoiler,
2. Rear mudguards (front are standard),
3. "Touring Edition" decal on trunk lid.
Basically the package is a lick n' stick performance package...great for the "poser" type.
My car has all the options except automatic and ABS...because an automatic 4-cyl is pointless and I hate Anti-lock brakes!(And no Moonroof was available on the LX just the DX & SE).
Unfortunatly I am a "speed head", So to the car I have added a K&N cone style airfilter and a BroSpeed muffler. Eventually I'd like to add a header and 2 1/4" exhaust if it dosen't rob to much botttom end power. I have pictures to send in of the K&N install, I just have to get them scanned (I don't have a scanner).
I also found the FS-ZE cam article quite exciting, do the FS-ZE cams fit into the 1.8L or just the 2L? Also, on the topic...how different are the 1.8L and 2L? Do the performance parts interchange or does that screw the ECM up?
