Gettin' rotors drilled!
#2
eh....it's iffy. The only way I'd let someone drill rotors AFTER they're cast is if they use a CNC machine and have a program set up specifically for this....
post-drilling can cause the rotor to weaken or possibly crack. I know a lot of places do it (the GB I ran were all post-drilled) but they were done very well from brembo blanks. autozone specials may not hold up as well.

nope. I don't have access to anything larger than stock. Sorry. For larger rotors you'd need new calipers and possibly new brackets....be cheaper to do a 5lug swap probably and then just run the MSP brakes.

Why people think they need cross drilled rotors for the street is beyond me.
If you really drive that hard on the street, you should be upgrading your pads first.
And then getting slotted rotors instead.
But still unnecessary.

Mainly for looks I'd say. The breaks on our cars are pretty solid the way they are stock, but improving them slightly never hurts either .. plus they do look better.

Yeah I love how they look! Besides, with my driving I could use an upgraded brakin' system. And hopefully sooner than later I'll be upgrading my engine from a 1.5l to a 2.0l and adding a shitload of mods to it. So yeah the brake system will work out just fine for me.
Hey Rod, I wouldn't know where to begin to look for those parts seein' that I'm in trinidad and we don't have MSPs here.

i am getting Slotted rotors and EBC green stuff pads put into mine.. (was meant to be done months ago but some other things came up which diverted my funds :S:S:S)
so hopefully by the end of the month i will have em...
i was told to keep away from Xdrilled unless i wana spend big, because the cheaper ones are prone to developing cracks between the holes....

midnight, I actually drive very slowly on the street but I like the slotted/drilled brakes because of how much better it handles wet rotors. I've had 0 rainy problems...
Amrit, contact Ken@protegegarage.com. he can get you all of the OEM stuff you need...IIRC his MSP upgrade was only like $300usd...but you'd need the hubs also....so maybe more.
