Is this a good deal?
Been car shopping lately, and I've come upon a couple I'm interested in. One being a Protege-
2002 Protege ES, 5spd, 17k miles. $11,000
Is this a fair price? The car is in great condition, if one didnt know any better, you'd think it was brand new. BTW this car is being sold at a Honda dealer.
Anyway, I signed up at this site a while back, forgot about it, and just remembered it now that I'm looking at this Protege. Hope someone can help.
Thanks

sounds like a good price to me but I would first check with edmunds.com and kbb.com to see what they say. Also since it's a used car there is a lot more mark up and dealers of other manufacturers have a lot more room to wiggle.
What are they asking for the car?? If they're asking $11K you should offer $3500 less!! I've often found most dealers have $3K in markup on used vehicles. If they're asking $14K you're probably getting a good deal.

Private Party Value: $8,150
Trade-In Value: $8,600
Retail Value: $11,550
Also just a few minutes ago on Autotrader I found a 2002 MP5 for like $8,500 dunno how i would like a wagon though.
I'd really like to find a 2003 MSP, but they're damn near extinct

they're extinct because they're falling apart and getting totaled by punks who over-drive them!
I would seriously avoid the MSP until the AEM ems comes out and mazda has a true recal on their crappy stereos and LSD's that are cracking in half.
