Got Pulled Over Last Night
Well I got pulled over last night...the cop didn't shoot radar or anything he was just pulling out of a driveway from a park and saw me go by and could tell I was going too fast. He had an estimate just by eyeballing me go by and he was pretty close. Since he had no solid reading I just got a verbal warning, thank God. I have a radar detector and all but since he wasn't shooting anything it does no good. I was nice so he was nice to me, but had it gotten a reading I don't wanna know. I was doin like 57 in a 40 (but it was like 45 20 yrds up so I was gettin set for that speed , plus my speedo says I am going a little faster than I am as I have gauged it on those little automatic things cops set up) But my question is, do verbal warnings go on record? As in, if I get pulled over again will it come up so they know I have already been warned once, or is that only for written warnings?

Not sure about Florida law, the officer may have only needed to note the incident in a log...if it was verbal only, I'd say noting on your record.
A written warning, yes, that would be on record for sure.
Be careful out there! Especially this week.

it was the city police not state trooper (they are asses here, the troopers). if it's city/state specific i guess I'll just the officer that works at my job at nights and see what he says. he pulled behind me and i was like "****!" he wasnt using radar or anything so i wasnt too concerned. so i down shifted to slow down so it didnt fire my lights and he tail gated me so i was like wtf?!? i guess he was running my tag and had to get close enough to read it. then like 30 sec later he turns his lights on.

Breakin the law
Unless you got something to sign, they will have no record of it. If he would have given you a written warning, it still wouldn't have gone on your record. The only thing that goes on your record is a written ticket (and that only when you pay it or fight it and lose). I've gotten plenty of tickets for speeding, but since I get out of them, they never go on record, and never affect my insurance. Cheers.

i had a police follow me for several miles before deciding to stop me for speeding (several miles ago) - had to nerve to ask if i was trying to get away (b/c I turned on a backroad... which happens to come out near the grocery store... which is where i was headed) he claimed i was going 70 in 55.. but... we met over the crest of hill i'm figuring there was no way he could have got a accurate reading - and i KNOW i was going ~ 60, would have killed my old toyota truck to hit 70 on a long hill. (i was young/dumb back then )

Had a cop pull me over for doing "89" in a 45--but I wasn't doing more than 55. I argued, but he said he knew it was me because "I had to turn my head to see you." How can you argue logic like that?
I figure he got an 89 reading on the radar gun and looked up to see a swarm of SUVs and my Miata--it must be the sports car.
It happened at Pojoaque Pueblo in NM. In the end, I figured the white man has been screwing the Native Americans over for 400 years, so I did not contest my $90 forced donation to the pueblo.

I'm curious how you go about doing that .. so far every speeding ticket I fought was shut down in a matter of seconds and I ended up just paying more money. Fill me in mate ..

i get out my tickets by taking them to lawyer who speacializes in traffic tickets. here in ft. worth, tx. its james maloury. i got a ticket for 95 in a 60. there is no way i was going this fast, cuz the hyundai sonata wouldnt go that fast, lucky to get to 70. i didnt argue with the cop cuz he let me, he said i clocked you 95 heres your ticket.
i took the ticket to a lawyer, he charged me $31 for him to appear for my cout date. that ticket only cost me $130 total, cuz he probation. ive several others to him and either heard nothing back or my fines were real cheap.
you can take defensive driving, so it dont go on your record and you get an insurance discount. but you have to pay the whole ticket. you can also take deferred judification to keep it off your record, but you pay the whole ticket.
hope the info you. like i said before im in tx, so some of this might not be the same.

A Sonata could probably hit 95, never been in one but I'm sure it wouldn't have a problem hitting 70. A good way to get out of tickets is not to get one in the first place.

However, just because you go to college doesn't mean you are smart. I have met many college grads that don't know what they are doing. I have also met plenty of others that seem like rocket scientists.
