Headlights! Need help!

This might have been posted b4 but im too lazy to search

1 ) Are the P5 headlights the same size and same fitting in our cars?

2 ) Are the wiring different?

3 ) Would it be a pain the the @$$ to switch to P5 headlights?

4 ) Has anyone done it yet?

Well on the Wingswest MP3 there was clear headlights.... it didnt look like P5 headlights.. so does that mean there is another set of clear headlights out there other than the P5s?

I am a little confused...

Is the question do the P5's headlights fit the regular sedan?

I think the P5 headlights will fit any 02 protege but I am not positve. The P5 and MP3 headlights are also different in design But I think they are universal (they will both fit both cars)

All I know about Headlight housing upgrades is that they are stupid expensive. A Eruo-upgrade for a 3rd gen sedan is about $970 through corksport

Yeah then I think they are interchangeable

the only difference I can tell is the Amber canister on the inside of the P5's head light and two light projectors rather than the one larger one on MP3's. I think the Amber light was on the outside of the MP3's. I would definately do it if it will work. I think the P5's look better especially at night. The parking lights leave an awesome amber glow.

Send some pics if you can, and if it works

I am not sure about any of that. If the MP3 headlights have a different bulb layout then the wiring harness is probably different too. I would talk to you dealership about the wiring. If things get shitty and your car catches on fire I don't think they will cover it under warranty.

Not only has this been discussed before, your questions are also answered in the FAQ.

However, I can relate to your laziness, so I'll help you out by answering your questions:

1. Yes. The P5 headlights will fit any 2001+ sedan, including the MP3.

2. Yes. The wiring is different as the P5 headlights use two seperate bulbs for high and low beam while the sedans use only one. The wiring harness will need to be replaced.

3. No idea. I'm guessing that it shouldn't be too hard for anyone who knows what their doing...I think the biggest pain would come from your wallet.

4. I'm sure someone has, but I don't know any such person.

There are headlights for the 2001+ sedans that have the chrome housing rather than the black. Putting one of those in would be cheaper than trying to install a set of P5 headlights and a wiring harness to get it to work properly...but still pretty expensive.
