Hit something, Blew tire
Blew up the right front tire the other night. Did not see what i hit, but it was in the center lane covered by snow. No rim damage, but i had to drive on the spare for about 20 km.
Mazda will not replace your tire under warrenty even if it is a blowout on the sidewall and you tell them you didn't hit anything.
But my real question here is this..
The new tire is great, but now when i accellerate it pulls to the right rather noticeably, i do not notice it any other time than during accelleration.
Could this be because of the alignment? or transmission? because i heard it was bad on the transmission to drive on the small spare tire on the drive axel.
Any ideas are appreciated..

How many miles on the other tires? If they just replaced one and you are lets say the burnout king of North America, then the new tire could be causing the problem. I really think its an alignment issue as you hit something big enough to puncture your tire and jar your alignment. Unless you have 20000+kms adn your are the burnout king of North America

I agree.....its probably your alignment....have it checked..
ANYTIME you EVER hit anything with your front end that causes a tire to blow.....have your alignment checked....afterall...you just shelled out some major coin for a new tire...no need to ruin it because the alignment is out.

If the replacement tire is a different brand, type or size, this can also cause pull. Tire sizes are just a general guideline; the exact diameter and width of different types of tires vary slightly, and the variation is big enough to cause pull in many cases.
Driving with the compact spare on one side will not cause tranny damage unless you have a limited slip differential, and unless you've got an MSP you don't have one.

I had a single tire replaced on the rear of my car, different brand same size, but they really are not even close to the same size physically. No big deal,..... until I got a tire rotation and now it is on the front, of a front wheel drive car. Now two different size tires on the front, and when you accelerate it REALLY pulls to the right hard. I got rid of that car, but it was definitely because of the tires.

speaking of blow tires... an advice to all of u.. dont ever drive on the right side of the freeway unless ur exiting.... becoz one time i had a scissor blade stuck on my tire.... 5 inches long... and i couldnt see it coz it was at nite... its a pain in the *** to replace it :P so keep left to keep your car safe
