how much did you guys pay for it?
how many miles do you get on a full tank?
how is the gearing?
whats the redline?
what rpms are you at when you are cruising at 70, 75, 80 mph?
1. 16,500 USD with options in my sig
2. 300-400 miles (23-35 MPG)
3. 6500 redline 7100 ish fuel cut-off
4. 70 mpg = 3250 RPM (calculate the rest from that)

gearing is 30'ish at 6500 in first, 56'ish at 6500 in second, 80'ish at 6500 in third.......around 110 MPH in fifth is around 5100 RPM's.

how do i like my pro5? hummm..i only use this car as a commuter usually, but today i took it out to the woods that i usually take my weekend cars to. sure it's not anywhere as fast (acceleration) as my other cars but the smoothness of the MT and the steering response, very on-rail like handling, really makes this car a fun car to drive. especially since the tranny is finally starting to break in and all shifts are becoming smoother and smoother. check out my simple mods on the www button if you'd like.

so i envy those who have the MSP as if my pro5's so fun to
drive, im sure with 1.5x the power, its a real blast!

I really like my MP5 a lot. Well, the acceleration is ok comparing with the same class , but the handling you cannot find in the others. It is really fun to drive! You won't be disappointed with this one.

Heres what i was once told when asking someone about a protege 5.....handles like a ferrari, accelerates like a ford escort gt. heres my 2cents, ive owned everything from 84 z28, 94 v6 camaro, 93 5spd 4cyl probe, 90 maxima, 99 eclipse (now), 93 grand am gt, 96 dodge neon sohc, and a 97 daytona shelby z turbo 5spd, then about 1 month ago test drove a protege 5, 2002, with 10k miles, i loved the car, it has brisk acceleration, excellent braking, spacious, aggressive looks for a wagon, and is the best handling car ive ever drove, unfortunatly i didnt get approved to buy it, I am trying now to trade my 99 eclipse gs w/ mods in on a protege or protege 5 from 99 up, believe it or not, protege 5spds even though with less horsepower are faster than N/A GS/RS eclipses and handle better too. Wish me luck guys!
