How to mount your licence plate?
Was wondering if you guys have a solution to this. My licence plate rattles like crazy when going over unevern roads. And when I close the rear door, it sounds that it's gonna come off....
currently my plate is mounted on a black plastic with 2 screws on the top.
Any ideas? I was thinking of using double sided tape or a magnet...

I know your feeling, I hate to close the rear hatch because of the rattle. What pi$$ed me off is that I forgot to tell the dealer not to put the front license plate holder on. Now I have to ugly holes in the front bumper.

Anyway, i've used some tiny plastic clear wire ties to tie up the other two holes to the secure the plate to the plastic plate holder (the other 2 holes are already screwed on).
It's much better now. But still, the problem is that the plate holder itself is secured by just 2 screws. I'll probably need to put double-sided insulation rubber between the car and the holder as Chuck suggested.

Dynamat isn't sharp. I think it's a rubber based product that is used to dampen sheet metal resonance. It would work to reduce license plate noise from bass as well as car movement, etc. It's more expensive than double sided tape though, so if you don't have the bass problem, you probably don't need it.
