How Much Did You Buy Your Protege5 For?

After half a year of deciding and waiting. After this quarter, I decided to purchase a Protege5 (March 15th).

Not including tax and doc, how much did you buy your Protege5 for? What options do you have? Did they charge you dealer holdback? What other junk did they charge you for? What was your negotiation tip? Thanks!

Base Invoice - $15,318

What I paid

On my pro5 all I got was the polished wheels. Before all the tax and crap I paid 17000. They had a bunch of other bullshit add on all over the windows but thats all they are bullshit. These are just buffers for them to look good. No matter what they say remember that. Also before you go go to www.carbuyingtips.com .There is alot of useful info. I did alot of research before I bought my pro5. It is the best buy for the money hands down.

I got two 02' P-5's one is bone stripped...nothing but what comes standard. I paid $150 over invoice for it. if you will go and look at edmonds.com you can find out if the dealer is getting any holdback...when I got mine in December..they were not...there were no rebates...no incentives...nothing offered by the factory or any dealers...the only good deal I got was 0% financing.....anyway....after destination charges...tax/title/and licence....the Black Mica P-5 was $15800.....then there is MY car....the Vivid Yellow P-5, it has the moonroof, the polished wheels, the floor mats, wheel locks, factory alarm, and the 6-disc indash changer. I paid $300 over invoice for it.....after destination charges, tax, title, and licence....it was $19100.

and the BASE invoice here...is $15750.

I paid

I paid 16,950 for my 2002 P5 Vivid Yellow. I had a cashiers check made out to the dealer before I stepped on the lot. I sat down and showed the check to them and told them to remove all the fluff. No changer, Polished Wheels, all the extras. The saleman said I can't do that! I got up to leave slid the chair back and headed for the door. I was out of there in 1 1/2 hours free and clear.

I bought a Silver P5 day before yesterday.

A "dealer demo" with 5400 miles, base model 5 speed, no polished wheels or any other add ons - I DID make them throw in the floormats for free.

Including the $750 rebate, I paid 14,649 plus tax, title, inspection and tag.

Gotta do SOMETHING about the shifter though

Thumbs up i PAID .........

I purchased a silver P5 on July 6th of 2001 and I payed $16,900. It has the side air bags, carpeted floormats, moonroof, but no polished wheels. I tried to get a yellow one but theey said that due to the limited production of the yellow p5's that the cost would be 2,000 more. I walked and came back later that week to talk business. Let em know your surious and don't some stupid clown shoes salesman. Go straight to the sales manager.
