how to video??

hey just touching base to see if people in the protege forums would be interested in a line of " Do It Yourself " videos, I work for a small production company we currently have 2 videos out one for supercharger installs for nissan xterra's and one for a custom turbo kit for 911 non turbo. I spoke to the owner and he said if enough people gave it a thumbs up he would start production on the videos ranging from turbo kits, motor mounts,headers,etc...so i was wondering what you folks thought would you prefer detailed videos or instructions writen in some alien tongue?..thanks for any feed back you may have!!

ps if you all seem pretty interested feel free to make a list of parts you would consider purchasing and would like to see installed on video

seems very interesting. Do you do the work yourself in the video or just film others doing it? Where are you located? I wouldn't mind putting together some video how-to's for the forum. That would be pretty cool actually.

Well i'm a sales person..i would be involved in the shooting but not to the extent of doing the work. The company i work for will hire a ase certified mechanic to over see the work the ase will not touch a tool, the guy doing the work is a do it yourselfer just like us. we also have trained camera crew for the shoot which would take place in a indoor setting. We decided to only use tools the average joe has, nothing a basic "Do it yourself " person wouldnt have ( no air tools unless nessary but we would prefer to work around that ) We want the videos so basic and so detailed a 17 yr old kid could install a turbo or motor mounts. The Company is based out of Delware. Any feed back is great!!

I would love to have a video for the clutch and timing belt. Those are the two things I know I'll be facing in the future - not too near, hopefully. Maybe struts too, cause I would like to keep the road hugging performance as good as new.

Luzer and KrayzieFox said most of what I'd like like. Cool concept.

cool concept but I don't see it making it any further than this stage. The cost of this type of endeavor is much higher than our community (protege asa a whole) is willing to support I'm sure.

I've bought how-to videos from the rx7 community before and they are awesome....however those guys are more willing to spend money than our guys. Sad reality but it's probably not a good investment for these guys.

Now if we could do something small scale and locally on this forum THAT would be a great asset. I don't know of many people with the time and resources to do full maintenance vid's for $0. Maybe we can work something up though where we do some smaller stuff at my shop. I'll have someone else film it all and I'll edit it together at home on the mac. Then we'll just upload it to server here and see how it takes off.
