Recently a nasty rattle developed in my driver door. It sounds like a metallic "ting" sound and it's more evident with the sunroof (or any window in the car) open. It comes from the lock tab area. If I press against the door panel the rattle stops.

I noticed the rattle before I put in my new speakers and when I took the door apart nothing seems to be loose. But when I put everything back together the rattle is still there.

 

I noticed this exact same thing I think. For some reason only seems to happen when the sunroof is open. If you find a fix please post back!

 

have you tried dynamatting your doors? it works in most situations... just layer it across the entire plastic/steel interface and it should get rid of it...

My driver side rattles too. Sounds like it is coming from the seat belt area.

On another message board someone said the dealer told them that it was the window regulator or something like that which caused the window to tilt and rattle inside the window track.

They said the dealer fixed it under warranty but they had to take a technician for a ride to point out exactly what they were hearing.

I'm going to bring it up when I take my P5 in for the first oil change
