I Now Own an 86 Corolla...

...witha quarter million miles on it. It truly gives me that spit-up taste in my mouf...

I bought it for my stepson (at his request) for $150. I got it running (bad coil) and de-carboned the engine with Seafoam.

Bleah!

I really hope no one who knows me sees it squatting in the driveway. In a week it will be gone.

I just hope i don't get a ticket parking it on the street (ticket for littering!).

Mazdas are teh rool!
sigh.

LOL. I have a '92 Corolla that I bought new for my wife. I actually took it to work today to give it a run..only has 99k on it. Body has a little rust and the paint is pretty bad-looking but it still runs great. I just never look anyone in the eye when I drive it, hehe.

Worse. I am driving it and the PoPO pulls me over, 'uh, sir is there something worng with your emissions [sic] ...?' Me: 'No, i just seafoamed the engine. It will clear up momentarily... '

As i slink down knowing that the color of the smoke will only change back to blue soon... I HAVENEVER FELT SO 'GHETTO' IN MY LIFE.

Seafoam at night. Then stick to back roads. Or you could wait until a foggy day, lol.

This thread is worthless without a mazda!

hahah jk. Apparently those little ae86 corollas are a big item with the young kids who don't know anything about cars. So much so that toyota is making a new model (supposedly).

I heard from some dude that supposedly they might think about making a new one.. but he saw a theoretical picture and it looked like a scion.. which I guess would kinda make sense as Toyota isn't allowed to produce anything that even hints at being fun to drive other than the FJ Cruiser and Tacoma.

I owned an '82 Corolla SR5--actually it was my wife's first and became mine when I traded in my car for a new one for her...

It was such a dog. I mean, really slow. It was an automatic, though. My '83 Sentra with a 1.5L and four speed could run circles around it.

Too bad, because it was kind of a cool looking little hatch.

Aww, c'mon, Matty! Those little things started the drift craze. Cheap, lightweight, well balanced RWD that's got plenty o' room for any kind of swap you can think of.

speaking of which...check out the 3-rotor corolla

I know at least a couple folks who have had these for sale. Some kid would inevitably show up to test drive it an ask "What's wrong with your car. It's so slow!" And the answer is always "Yeah...it's a corolla" and probably, under their breath, "Stupid Initial D watchin kid!" lol
