International Shipping for P5

Hi guys, I live in Sydney/Australia and i'm trying to buy a short shifter from the U.S. I got a quote from them to ship the products out to me for US$63.83. Now that's quite expensive considering that i have had stereo stuff sent out to me from the U.S. that weighed more but cost half the price. Following is the email conversation that i had with Terry from Spool-turbo.com (a dealer dor Kartboy). Terry knows that i will be showing the following emails because it will be a benefit to him if we can find a cheaper form of shipping.

Hello,
Shipping is $63.83 usd regardless of wich package you choose since they all weigh less than a 1 pound.
The bushings are $25
And the shifter is $90
And both the shifter and bushings are 105 usd
Thanks
Terry

Hi Terry,
Isn't there a less expensive shipping method if I only buy the Bushings. I just thought that US$63.83 is expensive for such a light product. I have had other car parts/accessories sent from the U.S that have weighed more but cost half as much. But I do understand that your shipping method might be different to those that I have used in the past and other circumstances might effect the price. Can you please clarify this before I make a decision to proceed or not.
We utilize UPS, FEDEX is more costly and usps does not ship to AU....any suggestions welcome:-)
Thanks
Terry

So does anyone know the different forms of shipping internationally. What is the cheapest way.

Thanks,
TDK

Well, just so you know:

I went to the UPS website, and calculated shipping from my US ZIP code to Sydney, Australia (I just picked any city down under). Package was 1lb, and I guessed 8"x8"x8", and insured for $100.

Cost: almost $75

I don't have any better advice for you, but at least we know the guy is in no way trying to rip you off.

Hope that counts for something.

the US postal service will ship to australia. again, doing a quick calculation, the most expensive i saw was $45 for 2 day express service. with the cheapest for a box package being about $15. i do not know if that includes any customs or duties.

What is the difference between UPS ans USPS. Like hihoslva wrote it is around the $75(using UPS) mark, but i also had a look at the USPS site and they say about $25. Why is there a big difference. Following is the USPS site to confirm the pricing:
