Invoice Price for P5 in Canada?
Hi! I'm new here!
I'm jus wondering what the invoice price for a P5 is in British Columbia. I'm planning to purchase a P5 and I want to recieve the lowest price possible.
I know MSRP is $19895 for a Pure White or Red model
but i will add A/C ($1000) and Auto tranny ($1000), bringing the MSRP to $21895 in PW or Red.
My rough guess is that the invoice price for the base model is $17000.
Thanks in advance!

Canadian dealer cost on a base P5 is $18,477, on A/C is $929 and on the auto transmission is also $929, for a total of $20,335 on the P5 you're looking at. This comes from www.carcostcanada.com .

Around Ottawa here, you'd be lucky to find a P5 so low. The Mazda dealers can't keep them on the lot so they're going for at least MSRP.
That being said, another option is to look around and see if you can find one used. I did and got one with 21,000 kms and a set of winter tires as well all for 20,500. Less than a year old.
Your mileage may vary though, I think I just got lucky

I think $1000 under list price would be reasonable to try for, at least in Toronto. That's the deal I got 4 months ago for P5 with Auto and A/C. Of course you have to add admin charge, PDI, air tax, blah blah. I think the financing is now 0.9 for 3 years intead of the 3.9 I got earlier in the year (they're trying to clear out the 2002s).

If you are looking for a P5 here in BC, I would certainly recommend Leo Edwards & Sons in Chilliwack. We just picked up our new P5 on Saturday from them and they were great, not big and flashy and all blah, blah, blah !!! I literally phoned every Mazda dealer in B.C. and without even dickering on the price they were way less, both outright price wise and monthly lease wise. Now I leased mine through work but nonetheless I think they are interested in selling cars ! If eveything was equal price wise, just they way we were treated would be a major factor in buying there.
F.Y.I. they are the oldest Mazda dealership in Canada (31 years I think), and the Edwards name has been involved in the auto biz in Canada since 1912, and sold horse drawn carriages in Britain since 1812. Kinda cool !! (they had pictures tracing the family name).
Good luck !!
P.S. - spend some time on the phone. You'll be very surprized at the difference in prices you get quoted. And always force them to give you a figure first, don't let them get away with the " well what have I got to beat to get your biz" bullshit. I saved $ 2400.00 ( with no hidden costs) over the course of my 48 mos. lease just by spending @ 45 min on the phone. You can get a list of BC dealers on www.mazda.ca.

Thanks everyone! (especially bmorton!)
Wow, i didn't expect the MSRP to be so close to invoice. Mazda was sure taking a risk on this car.
90&00 Protege: I would buy manual if I could, but I'm sharing this car with someone who can't drive it
dru: Used cars hafta be financed thru the bank and I do not have the funds to buy the whole car at once. Used P5 around BC are rare, seems no one is willing to let them go
wreckage: Chilliwack is a bit far for me (i live in Delta), but the phoning idea is sure worth trying
I'm still trying to decide which car to buy, the P5 is definitely at the top of my list, but i'm still considering the Subaru Impreza 2.5TS and Nissan Sentra SE-R
Thanks again!
