Wink Just bought a 2002 LX - Sunlight Silver

This is a great little car! I'm very please with my purchase.

It is loaded with everything except the Spoiler and the 6 disc changer.

I might add the spoiler - haven't decided 100%.

I got a great deal (I think). I traded a 91 Golf and got the Protege'
for 15K out the door (Tax included). I took the zero % / deferred payment deal as well. So I'm basically driving this new beauty with no money out of pocket (for now).

I don't think there is a better new car value out there.

Anybody add a spoiler after the purchase? If so how did it go?

I got the ES trim model with a spoiler and also took the 0%/deferred payment plan. My car was $15,500 brand new. About $16,430 with the taxes. Unless your car Golf was only worth maybe $1500 then I'd say you got a pretty good deal.

I got around $.1200.00 for my trade. I say it was about right.
They'll need to spend some $$$ on it before they re-sell it.

But I was the only owner and I had the Golf since June of 91.

I plan on keeping the Protege' at least as long.

I never considered buying a Silver car before but this one with
the alloy wheels is a real beauty.

Oh yea I went to a dealer that had a "No Haggle" policy.
What B.S. ! I still had to haggle do get the payments down to
where I wanted them. But it was worth it.

Thumbs up

Nice Car Gaspo, you too PatherES.

I just order a Spoiler (actually I won an Ebay bid) for one from Spoilerdepot.com.

Looks easy to put on. It has a light and is supposed to be as good as one from Mazda (OEM).

Anybody ever buy from these people?

Doug

Never heard of them, but you might want to consider removing the stock break light in the back window. I believe pro's that came with no spoiler have a third break light, and if the new spoiler had a break light as well it looks a little silly.

I bought my 2002 LX in March, you'll love it .

I paid $15,200 with taxes, but I didn't get the ABS/side airbags option. I also got stuck with an automatic (long story). I sold my old car to CarMax, and got twice what the dealership offered.

Thinking about adding the spoiler myself...someday.

I paid my 2002 metallic green LX Auto + without spoiler for only $13,600. (before tax)

After I added the Konig 16" alloy wheels and Kumho 205/45/16, the total is $14,500

Guess I am the happiest!!!
